I began playing guitar in the 4th grade because my girlfriend was also taking lessons in the same class (she dumped me for a drummer).  Took lessons from Mike Bruce (Bob Segar and Bobby Bland's guitarist) while in High School.  Continued to study music in college, concentrating in Jazz and Classical guitar. Toured eastern Europe with the Graceland Jazz Band in 91'.  Band director for Carlisle High School taking them to state jazz and placing first.  Toured the Montreaux and North Sea Jazz Festivals with Drake Jazz 1 in 98.  The current daytime gig is orchestra director for Marshalltown High School....
